Prince of Persia (Saturday, June 5, 2010 / 9:39 PM)
yo! new sem starts! short sem begins and gonna say bye bye to rotting!
another good news about new semester begins, is that i finally can have kaki to watch movie! Oh MAN, one whole month without watching movie, i think my critical sense of watching movie must have deteriorated. and i have so much to catch up! so many movies, so little cash and time! =(
anyway, managed to watch Prince of Persia on Tuesday night. im so GLAD! cinema is like my paradise!
okie, Prince of Persia.
does the tagline: from the producers of Pirates of the Carribean eye-catching? i guess many audience watched this movie because of this producer, sort of quality guarantee kinda thing.
and of course, it was a satisfying movie watching experience! despite the fact that we were sitting at the second row.
Prince of Persia: The sand of time was a movie originated from a famous video game - The sand of time trilogy. i heard that the creator of the videogame has become the scripwriter for this movie as well!
basically the story take place in ancient years, when Persia was strong and dominant across the desert. hmmm, let's put this in this way. they were like the Americans many years back, the most powerful country in the land. always starts with war, attack and etc. they attacked a holy city, and confiscated a mysterious dagger- dagger of time. and then the story revolved around the dagger, as to said that come with a strange power from god to reverse time and allow its possessor to rule the world.
first, the storyline was really distinctive from what we have recently. all those metallic weapons in the recent Hollywood movies have caught no surprise. thus, Prince of Persia, expose a different insight for what an ancient world in 6th century would look like. as well as their war, their building, their artifacts and etc. everything was new to me, because we have never seen those before, or even imagined them. besides, using dagger, blade and sword, they could have intense body-to-body fighting! unlike using guns, shooting from a far distance, doesn't look so lively. they fought so hard, as if we could see blood and flesh everywhere! hehe..
the dagger!
two, the cast. Princess Tamina is definitely the next Megan Fox. she has the most beautiful cat-eyes that i have ever seen. and, she has the perfect mixture of sophisticated and oriental look. that i predict that she will be featured in many movies in the future, because she can be in both historic or action movies.
the gorgeous princess!
also, not to forget, Jake Gyllenhaal who played as the Prince of Persia. whoa, i tell u, this is hard. how to describe his hotness in just short paragraphs?? he has muscular body shape that makes many crazy woman out there drool for days and night. and, with his eyes, i could see...charm. ahh shit, im talking like some desperate woman.
anyway, i love the chemistry between the princess and the prince. they were basically fighting verbally all the time, shooting each other sarcastically, and then genuinely care for each other and always lend a hand for each other. i like the way when they spoke, they intentionally added "Prince" or "Princess" at the end of their sentences in order to tease them.
my favorite quote from them is when the princess said that she was a beauty and then the prince chuckled and said: u're a beauty?
the princess replied and looked him into the eyes: there's must be the reason that you can't take ur eyes off me.
and the prince went like err...speechless and embarrassed. HAHA, so adorable!
however, with the name of Walt Disney, the ending is rather predictable. i couldn't help but relate the story to the Lion King because it was like so bloody similar. it's like u can already picture what's going on throughout the movie. and, i think that's one of the things that they should have improved on. always leave surprise for ur audience. unpredictable is always a key to success in movie industry.
oh ya, and did i said i totally stoned in the cinema when they suddenly have ostrich racing! not one, MANY! and i afraid/hate
OSTRICH the most! eww, frown at the thought! stupid birds! so huge cnt fly why must race? yerrrrrr feathers are disgusting!!!!!!
besides that, i spotted some familiar faces in the movie. the characters look alike!
Prince Dastan and Simba!
no, i mean seriously! they do look alike! maybe not so in the picture, but in the movie, they had the same expression!
and also, Nazam and Jaafar from Aladdin.
see? it looks like he was coming out from the cartoon. and, what a coincidence! both Aladdin and Prince of Persia take place in the desert! wooo~
also, last but not least. we think Jess looks like OSTRICH in the movie. hmm, no picture comparison because she's gonna kill me. but anyhow she will also kill me so, no difference ba! HAHAHA...
8 over 10. thumbs up for the movie!
on a random sitenote, this movie caught me thinking. what if, u have something to reverse time, and u can go back to the time that u wanted and make a change. when would u wana go back to?
i wana return to my 6years old, which i had a performance during my kindergarten graduation ceremony. i fell down, and this embarrassed me for so long! also, wana remember the name of the guy i crush on. at least i can know how does he look like now!
i wana return to my age after SPM result was released. imma apply for scholarship as much as possible. or maybe, i would have JPA and studying in overseas.
so, when do u wana go back to?
